I adored Mrs. Hood! She had such a regal presence. I was fascinated by the way she taught us about famous authors - it was almost like she knew them personally and was telling stories. She's one of the only teachers I wanted to go back and visit on a weekend home from college - she seemed so pleased that I stopped by to see her one Friday afternoon that fall of '65.

Mrs. Hood was my favorite. She was "no nonsense" and sat up on a stage-like box. She really controlled the classroom as I remember it.
